Changelog
Every dotMux version released on the App Store, newest first.
Version 1.8.1
Connect to every host at once — and keep them all live while you move between them.
- Multiple hosts connected at the same time. Leaving a terminal no longer disconnects it: work keeps running on every host you have open, and a pill in the terminal shows how many are live.
- The host list is the connection switcher. Live hosts are marked where you already look, so moving between servers is one tap instead of a reconnect.
- Group hosts into folders, with each folder showing what is connected inside it.
- The window and pane pickers render your real terminals, live — pick a window by what is in it, not by its name.
- Snippets: save commands globally or per host, and run them from the keyboard bar without typing them again.
- Local port forwarding: tunnel a remote port over SSH and open your server's web UI right inside dotMux.
- Shortcuts support: connect, send a command, and read the output. Unattended runs are available per credential, for automations that cannot stop to ask for Face ID.
- Import any Ghostty or iTerm2 color theme, from a file or a URL.
- Import ECDSA (P-256) private keys, alongside ed25519 and Secure Enclave keys.
- Review and forget trusted host keys on a known-hosts screen.
- Annotate pasted images before they upload, and watch the upload progress.
- Drag the divider between panes to resize them on iPhone.
- A redesigned terminal top bar: the same controls meaning the same thing everywhere.
Fixes: restored sessions come back at the right size; the keyboard no longer hides the last terminal row; a tmux server that dies is named on the row instead of blamed on the connection; large pastes and long composer drafts are no longer rejected whole; drafts survive a rejected send; the privacy cover hides sheets in the app switcher; a corrupt host file no longer loses your hosts; and restore-purchase and Ask-to-Buy outcomes are reported instead of dead-ending.
Version 1.7.4
Fixes for scrolling, Shift+Tab, and hosts where tmux wouldn't attach.
- Mouse wheel and trackpad scrolling now work in the terminal, exactly like a two-finger swipe — panning scrollback at the shell, or scrolling inside htop, vim and Claude Code.
- Shift+Tab sends a real back-tab, so reverse-tab works in any terminal app instead of behaving like plain Tab.
- Connecting to some hosts showed the shell but never attached to tmux, leaving you in a plain terminal. dotMux now retries the attach once and gets there.
Version 1.7.1
The customization release: manage panes from the app, theme the terminal, and make the keyboard bar your own.
- Split, resize, and close tmux panes right from the app — pane menu, long-press, or hardware-keyboard shortcuts.
- Terminal fonts and color themes: JetBrains Mono, Fira Code and more; Dracula, Nord, Solarized, Tokyo Night and others — with live preview.
- Customizable keyboard bar: add, remove, and reorder every key — F-keys, Ctrl combos, arrows, even custom text snippets.
- Multi-line composer: draft long commands or agent prompts, then send them in one go.
- Select and copy terminal text with native handles — works inside vim, htop, and Claude Code.
- Tap links in the terminal to open them; a confirmation shows the destination first.
- Paste images into remote sessions — dotMux uploads them and pastes the path, ready for Claude Code.
- Pinch to zoom with a live cols × rows readout, an extra terminal row on iPhone, and an optional Keep Screen On while connected.
- New: animated launch screen, offer-code redemption, open-source acknowledgements.
- Fixes: wrong terminal size on connect, iPad keyboard/window controls, session dialogs, clearer credential errors.
Unlimited Hosts is now $1.99 — still one-time, still no subscription.
Version 1.1.3
First public release of dotMux.
- Native tmux control mode: your remote windows are tabs; your panes are native views — full-screen on iPhone, side-by-side splits on iPad.
- SSH with password, imported ed25519 keys, and on-device Secure Enclave keys.
- Session picker: list, switch, and create tmux sessions per host.
- Background rehydration: come back to your workspace after iOS suspends the app.
- Helper keyboard with Esc/Ctrl/Tab, an arrow joystick, and sticky modifiers.
- Face ID app-lock and per-credential gate; credentials stay on your device.
- iPad multi-window support.
Free for one host. One-time $3.99 unlock for unlimited hosts.
