dotMux on iPhone Duo
dotMux adapts to the fold on its own. There’s no setting to turn on: the layout follows whichever display you’re using.
On the cover
The cover works like any iPhone. Each pane gets the whole screen, and you move between them with the pane picker. Two things are tuned for its short screen:
- In landscape, the pane picker steps the keyboard out of the way while it’s open, so its preview cards fit.
- When a window has so many panes that the previews would be too small to read, the picker lists them as equal-size rows instead.
Unfolded
The inner display is wide enough for the iPad layout: tmux panes sit side by side as native views, sized the way tmux says, and you resize them by dragging the dividers. herdr tabs split the same way.
Unfolding takes you out of zoom. A pane you zoomed on the cover to give it the whole screen goes back to its place in the split, so you see the full layout the moment there’s room for it.
Half-folded
Held half-folded in landscape, iOS gives the keyboard the whole lower half, so the helper bar sits just above the fold.
